READ MOREYWAM in Bolivia. Santa Cruz, the largest city in Bolivia, has a population of 10,000 or more homeless children. Many are runaways who fled abuse or neglect. They sleep under bridges and in doorways. In order to survive, they beg on the streets or wash the windshields of cars stopped at traffic lights. They live in a perpetual state of being cold and hungry. Sniffing glue is the only way to make their wretched existence marginally more bearable. The relief organisation YWAM is dedicated to helping get these kids off the streets.
